Globe Glow is an innovative embedded system project that enables users to control street lights through a native platform built by Codemelt. Globe Glow enables the creation of a smart street illumination infrastructure, which can be controlled remotely, while automatically adapting to real-life conditions, such as changing sunset/sunrise times, current weather conditions and more.

Codemelt's assignment spanned across multiple areas: from design & branding, to software development and hardware solutions. Our teams collaborated to develop a functional platform, based on a complex network solution, that worked flawlessly, based on Globe Glow's requirements.

The hardware aspect of the project required a network component that would enable instant communication between street illumination infrastructure and users controlling remotely from their devices. Globe Glow's solution consisted of light bulbs, which have a Wi-Fi antenna and a SIM slot that allows them to connect to the native platform.

Its native platform was built by our Dev Team, enabling its users to instantly control the street illumination level for Globe Glow's smart infrastructure. Users also receive tailored insights such as energy consumption, status of light bulbs and an overview, paired with a map of the street lighting status. In addition, alerts are automatically sent when there is a malfunction in the infrastructure, maintenance is required or when a light bulb is faulty.

Our designers created a new branding for Globe Glow, meticulously selecting their color scheme, typography and developing a visual identity for the platform, including logos and branding kits. We also created a simple and intuitive interface that prioritizes usability allowing for easy navigation.
